As a Leader, You Need to Be Both Positive and Aggressive

Who is a leader? What qualities do they possess?  What separates them from the others?

Let’s see what great leaders have to say:

According to Peter Drucker: “The only definition of a leader is someone who has followers.”

According to Warren Bennis: “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.”

According to Bill Gates: “As we look ahead into the next century, leaders will be those who empower others.”

Now let us see what are the types of qualities they possess:

Honesty and integrity, Confidence, Positivity, Ability to inspire others, Commitment and passion, Good communicator, Decision-making abilities, accountability, Delegation and empowerment, Creativity and innovation and empathy.

The list goes on and on, but these are the founding pillars of a Great Leader.

And these are the qualities that separate’ a leader from the rest of the crowd.

In this Blog, I will focus more on the fact that why a leader needs to be both positive and aggressive.

As a leader is not only important to be positive rather it is critical too.

It is a choice! When things are not working out or they start to fall apart, a leader with a positive attitude will be able to handle them himself rather than seeking motivation from the outside world. This helps to save time and also show the followers that heir is nothing to worry about.

As a leader, it is his/her responsibility to make people feel safe and protected from external threats.

A positive attitude not only alters the behavior of the leader or the followers but it has a deep impact on the outcoming decision.

Your team is a mirror of yourself and they will reflect the same traits that are shown to them. A leader is not only the one who leads but also lifts others up around him. That is what a true leader does and that is the main reason why people follow them.

Aggressiveness often reflects anger. The ability or the decision of an individual to force something on someone. In a leader, it is needed to the extent where it does not leave the person in front of him uncomfortable or pressurized. Great leaders sometimes use aggressive nature to bring out the best in his/her followers. A leader has to deal with different people with personalities. Due to this, he has to use different strategies on different types of people.

This aggressive nature with having the right intention in mind towards a well-defined goal will yield great results.

A well-balanced fusion of these traits in a leader will improve his leadership skills and therefore attract more people towards him.

Thus both are necessary for making a Great Leader but hey!  There is a lot more to work on.

A great leader has an amalgamation of different small qualities that sets him apart from the rest of the world.
