The NBA games are coming to India, for the first time ever on the 4th of October, 2019. The NBA will play its made in-game in India, in Mumbai. It will also be for the first time in the world, to be played in front of a stadium full of children all from the Reliance Foundation “Junior NBA Program”. And this great event will ensure an experience for a lifetime…


About the event :

This mega event is going to be held in  “Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Stadium ”  NSCI Dome, in Mumbai, India. The official dates are Friday,  4 October 2019 and Saturday, 5 October 2019. Its the first time ever where everyone is free to purchase tickets and allowed to experience a great event. The match is between ‘The Sacramento kings ‘ and ‘Indiana Pacers’ .The Sacramento Kings will be making the 20-hour trip to India in luxury. The event will be covered live on “SonyLiv ” from 06:30 PM.

The Kings and the Indiana Pacers will meet Friday and Saturday in the first NBA games to be played in the country, and the rapper Drake is lending his $185 million Boeing 767-200ER “Air Drake” to the Kings for the trip.

Initiatives are taken up by Reliance Foundation :

Reliance Foundation has contributed a lot to make this event a big opportunity for the children for learning and acquiring good experience out of it. Reliance Foundation took steps to promote basketball in India by organizing various workshops, etc… And even this was achieved better by training around thousands of children in the field of education and sports, that too free of cost !.

Audiences :

Now, according to reports around 3000 children from Indian Basketball Academy alone !! Even a few dedicated players, passionate about the sport are planning to attend the event by traveling all way long from Mussoorie to Mumbai, there are 14 students of the Wood Stock School in Mussoorie who will be cheering for the players.

American President’s Reaction :

American President Donald Trump reacted to this event in a very positive approach. He mentioned that he is very excited about the event as India would access “The World Class Product – NBA Basketball ” . He even adds humor in his speech by asking Indian Prime Minister  Shri Narendra Modiji: “Am I Invited ?” providing an indirect hint that even he is very much excited to experience the great event. Its the first time when a president is motivating such an event for a noble cause.
