The All New Tesla CyberTruck

On the 21st of November 2019, Elon Musk unveiled the all-new, all-electric Tesla CyberTruck at the Tesla Design Studio in Los Angeles. With its claim to change the 100 years of the same, reiterated truck designs, Elon Musk did certainly raise murmurs when he first unveiled the CyberTruck to the audience. Its goal is to replace the fossil fuel-powered trucks that have been running for ages now.

It is available to the public for sale on the official website of Tesla Motors, i.e., https://www.tesla.com/cybertruck

FEATURES

It is primarily available in three models, all 6 seaters:

  1. Single Motor RWD (Rear wheel drive)
  2. Dual Motor AWD (All-wheel drive)
  3. Tri-Motor AWD (All-wheel drive)

Its skin is made of the same alloy as that of the Starship Rocket, the CyberTruck earned many cheerful “ooooh”s and “Aaah”s from the audience when one of the Elon’s staff literally hit the door with a sledgehammer. Not once, but thrice and still even a minor scratch was not to be seen on it. The credit goes to its Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled Stainless-Steel structural and Tesla Armor Glass.

Another feature that Elon Musk mentioned during the presentation was its adaptive air suspension, which is a key element in the design of CyberTruck. This means that the rider will be able to adjust the vehicle’s clearance height on the fly to suit his needs.

Surprisingly, the CyberTruck can pull nearly infinite mass. Read that again.

Along with this, it has a towing capacity of 14000 pounds (6350 Kgs). Plus, it also offers 100 cubic feet of exterior lockable storage.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE PRESENTATION

However, the CyberTruck did fail one of its durability test which erupted in a meme fest throughout the web. It probably got more publicity than ever because of its failure.

So, basically what happened was that to show the durability of CyberTruck’s supposed bulletproof glass, Elon called the company’s lead designer and asked him to throw a metal ball on the glass. Funnily, as soon as the metal ball touched the glass, the glass cracked. It didn’t shatter but it definitely cracked which wasn’t supposed to happen, apparently. To lighten the mood, Musk said “It didn’t go through…that’s the plus side (laughs).” You can see the full incident here: https://twitter.com/i/status/1197734230543020032

So, the CyberTruck does promise to be far more superior than any of its current competitors. Even though it did fail the durability test, the internet seems to be happy because Elon Musk gifted them some cool meme content. Jokes apart, CyberTruck stands as another symbol of Musk’s futuristic vision of the world.
