The statistical measure of average time an organism is expected to live is known as Life expectancy. Various species like plants and animals have different lifespans. Life expectancy depends upon the year of birth, age, gender, diseases and many other statistical or demographic factors.
As the individual survives higher mortality rates associated with childhood, the life expectancy increases. Life expectancy also depends upon the economic circumstances of a country. Life expectancy of the residents of wealthier and richer countries are higher than the poorer countries. For example, life expectancy of the people living in United Kingdom is higher than the life expectancy of the people living in Ethiopia. Factors such as food, exercise, mental illness, diseases and lifestyle have a major effect on the life expectancy of a person.
